You are here: Experiment Guide > Nanoindentation > Nanoindentation Parameters > Auto Panel

Auto Panel

The Auto panel provides an easy way of generating an array of indentations on sample surfaces. The indentation force can be varied automatically to obtain a range of forces within the array. To execute an array of indentations, set the required parameters in the Indent Panel and Auto Panel and select the Auto Ramp command or icon from the menu (for details, see Automated Indentation).

Note that each indentation is executed using the same Indent parameters, excluding the Trigger threshold, which can be varied to change the force, and the X and Y offsets, used to position the tip.

Simple and Expanded Mode Parameters

All of the parameters in the Auto panel are visible, by default, in the nanoindentation workspace for both the Simple and Expanded modes.
